Our Co-operative
We have set ourselves aims and designed courses that we believe will make our community a better place to live.
Oxford Cycle Workshop Training is a community owned co-operative. This means you can become a member and have your say in how we might help make our community a better place to live.
What is a community owned co-operative?
A community owned co-operative is an organisation that offers people who share their aims the opportunity to share ownership of that organisation and have a say in the running of that organisation.
Why become a community owned co-operative?
Organisations that set up as this type of co-operative often have aims that are focused on improving the quality of live for their community. In fact you could argue that the co-operative model of business is always concerned with the quality of life of their community.
Oxford Cycle Workshop Training was right from the start an organisation with the ambition of using training as a key to empowering the people of Oxford, and a key part making that offer of empowerment to this community was giving it ownership and a say in what we do.

Oxford Cycle Workshop Training is an Industrial and Providence Society, which is a boggling name. We are a society run by rules.
